Eadweard Muybridge
Eadweard Muybridge was an english born photographer who worked at the university of Pensilvania, he was the first person to put moving images together to form a moving image. The name Eadweard Muybridge was the way he believed his born name Edward Muggeridge was spelled in anglo-saxon form.
He was most noted for his work with moving images, particularly his work with horses which before his experiment showed how horses actually looked in motion before this they were proportioned weirdly.

Gif's are a modern example of how moving images are used today. These were taken with Patrick, and Ben P, on Ipads.
Time Lapse's and Stop motion
Time Lapse's and stop motions are examples of moving images, a time lapse is a video which is not scripted or posed and is a record of what happens over the course of a period of time, examples of these are food rotting or life in a city. Stop motions however are a scripted set of photos pulled together to create a film or story, examples of these are the Wallace and Gromit movies.
This is a time lapse of the decomposition of food over 74 days.
